EuroChem launches 5.4 bln rbl urea ammonium sulfate facility

MOSCOW, Dec 5 (PRIME) -- Russian fertilizer producer EuroChem has launched a 5.4 billion ruble facility to produce granulated sulfur-enriched urea, or urea ammonium sulfate, at its subsidiary Novomoskovskiy Azot in the Tula Region with a production capacity of 600 tonnes a day, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Despite the popularity of urea ammonium sulfate in Europe, EuroChem’s facility has become Russia’s first producer of the fertilizer.

“Novomoskovskiy Azot has always been an innovation leader. This is where granulated urea, calcium ammonium nitrate, and low-density ammonium nitrate were first produced in Russia and now, in another first, we have launched the country’s only urea ammonium sulfate facility. This new fertilizer will meet the growing needs of Russian and European farmers,” the company said quoting Igor Nechayev, general director of Mineral and Chemical Company EuroChem.
